Building your profile in the aviation sector

Air traffic volumes have surpassed 2019 levels and are set to continue to grow, though there remains a lot of uncertainty. It remains a very crowded space, with high levels of competition throughout the value chain. We work with businesses in the aviation sector to help them grow by defining their unique proposition and ensuring those messages reach the right people through all the channels at their disposal.

Our expertise in the aviation sector will help put you in a strong position to increase your market share:

  • Differentiate your business by telling your story to customers and potential customers
  • Sustained presence in the relevant trade media
  • Maximize your presence at trade shows
  • Social media engagement, using a combination of words, images and video content
  • Issues and crisis communications management to protect your reputation

Services

Human communication is fundamentally based on telling stories. Our team combines deep knowledge of the aviation sector with the ability to help companies articulate their mission, vision and values, and to develop sustainable narrative and messaging that can remain consistent. Importantly, we work with your senior management to develop messages that carefully articulate what you do and why you do it, providing both clarity and differentiation.

The well-informed journalists who report on the aviation sector always require expert input for their publications. Inclusion in their articles is essential third-party endorsement that helps boost your credibility and profile. Coverage in the trade media is also the foundation for mainstream media coverage. Our team has been working with aviation writers for many years, cementing strong relationships that we can deploy to your advantage.

Trade shows are an excellent way of reaching many customers and potential customers in one place. However, there is always a lot of competition for attention. We can help you maximize your investment in the shows from start to finish. Our designers can create an eye-catching booth; our aviation sector experts can boost your team at the show; and our media relations experts can ensure you are covered in the show daily publications and in the reports from the event.

Presence on social media channels is not enough. Good returns come from engaging with productive followers, and using both paid and organic tactics to grow your follower base. It is also essential to connect the tone of voice you use on social media with your overarching narrative. Our combination of social media expertise and aviation experience means we can help you exploit the potential of social media to grow your business.

No one wants to have to deal with issues and crises but they are a fact of business life. The very best way to handle them is to be thoroughly prepared. That means being very honest about what could go wrong, then preparing how you would respond. Practice is key because you will not have long to react should a crisis strike. The Leidar team is ready to help you prepare and to provide 24/7 support should the need arise.

Case studies

Building and maintaining your profile

We provided an outsourced media and social media office for a well-established aviation industry IT provider, with a significant focus on the organisation’s profile within the industry. We targeting the trade media very successfully, ensure our client was regularly included in the main publications and, where appropriate, also in the mainstream media. In parallel, we built its social media profile on a number of different channels, using a combination of news content and commentary.

Launching a start-up

Our client was a technology start-up providing a highly innovative satellite communications solution for the airline industry. We shaped their messaging and positioning, as well as managing all their external communications. This was particularly important around the landmark trade shows twice a year, where we provided design services, on-site support and extensive media relations, building on continuous activity throughout the year. When the business was acquired by a major tier 1 supplier, the owners were very clear it achieved an excellent price because of its high profile.

Management training

Leidar developed and regularly updated a global advocacy training programme, including issues and crisis management, for one of the aviation industry’s major trade associations, initially in conjunction with an academic partner. The programme targeted all management levels and included upskilling as well as capacity building material. We trained over 300 employees in classroom sessions and virtual bootcamps, complemented with on-demand virtual learning tools.
